UPDATED 9/3/2009 This page will contain the most current summary information relative to the reconstruction project. MBIYC Marina Update - ELECTRIC HOT (9/3/09) MBIYC docks are open for member's use!. There is no potable water available initially so come prepared. Thursday 9/3/09, the electricity to the docks is finally ON! Power is also on to the State Park docks. The State Park Marina is also now open with the same water limitations. Transient docks can be obtained through them when the Club is full. The process for obtaining a dock remains the same as in the old marina. Seasonal Dock Holders will have until 2:00 PM on Friday to advise the dock master of their intent to use their dock that weekend. After 2:00 PM, the dock master will assign transient docks on a first-come, first-served basis. Members may call ahead when they are ready to get underway to verify a dock is available and the dock master may hold that dock for them until their ETA. The dock master will determine if your ETA is reasonable. VHF Channel 69 will be monitored by the dock master. CLUB PARKING There are a very limited number of parking spaces allotted to MBIYC at the Club grounds. This parking is to be used by members when visiting the Club and/or using their boat docked at the Club. It is not permanent parking for vehicles to be left for extended periods. Based boaters visiting the mainland by their boat for a few days may obtain a parking permit from the dockmaster. Anything more than a day or two requires the vehicle to be removed from MBIYC grounds and parked elsewhere. The dockmaster has been given the discretion for managing the parking situation by issuing permits. Non-permitted vehicles may be removed at the owner's expense. Due to upcoming construction activities, owners may also be asked to leave the keys with the dockmaster so the vehicle may be moved if necessary. Thanks to all for your cooperation and understanding. Summary MBIYC and the State Park Marina are now open for public use. MBIYC docks reopened June 30, 2009. Marina basin and dock construction is complete. The schedule for utility completion has not yet been set. There will not be power immediately available and water will follow even later. Permanent restroom and shower facilities will not be constructed until 2010. MBIYC docks are leased to members as in the past and will be available to transient members and affiliates when not in use by the lessee member. Members can add their name to the Dock Waiting List by clicking here. Affiliated Clubs will be welcome at MBIYC and the State Park Marina. With the State being able to eventually provide 200+ transient docks, even large groups should be able to be accommodated with advance reservations. Lease The State has agreed with MBIYC to lease us docks and property and keep the Club within the State Park. Details have been finalized and the lease was executed on October 14, 2008. Key Lease Points
Docks The dock construction package is contracted and the notice to proceed from the state was issued on September 22, 2008. MBIYC Dock construction completed on schedule June 30, 2009 MBIYC is purchasing F Pier directly from the same contractors as the State. MBIYC financing package from the bank has been approved. Contracts for the docks, electrical, plumbing and fire protection contractors have been completed. F Pier will have 56 docks equipped with electricity and potable water when complete.
Clubhouse Preliminary plans for a Clubhouse have been completed and include a great room, warming kitchen, offices, storage space, restrooms and showers. We are now proceeding with site layout and detailed building design. Construction is planned for 2010. |
