August 12, 2006
Our Family Fun Day was
held on Saturday the 12th of August and we had a surprising number of
participants .
The weather had gotten a little windy on Friday and looked a little bleak for awhile, but come Saturday morning the sun brightened, the day was perfect. and the ice cream was delicious. We had around (I think) 25 or 30 kids. We were pretty busy playing all sorts of games and didn't really take a count. All the kids won some sort of prize. Some of the winners of the gift certificates were Kelsey Palmer, Hunter Hill, Maya Collins, Jacob Stewart, Megan Roberts and Mel Stewart. We even engaged the adults in a round of trivia with the younger set as partners- and that was after all the prizes were gone. So I think it was a fun day for all who came. I heard a rumor that some of our adults borrowed children so they could play too. Way to go MBIYC. Thanks to all the crew who helped. Donna for the scavenger hunt and Barb for the duck pond. Sharon for the golf game and Karen , Donna and Patty for the extra help with the games. And a round of Applause goes to our story tellers at the campfire. Our Commodore even made one up and placed it on the island. As I looked around I saw a few kids who were mesmerized by his story of Amanda Starr and her Pirate Captain. Thanks Mike and everyone else who helped us share our Isle de Fleures with our families.
