MBIYC Gazebo
Your board had to make a difficult decision regarding the gazebo. When we moved it from the old site, we intended to relocate to our new location; however, the restrictions under which we now operate are different than those in the past. In order to put the old gazebo back in service required considerably more: permitting, reconditioning, site preparation, state inspection and standards. The cost of the project would divert significant resources of both time and money from the clubhouse, and we believe the clubhouse is a priority for providing adequate facilities for our members. Other parties expressed interest in the structure but permits were required to move electrical lines and transport, so interest was lost. Another situation was the state requested it be moved by the end of June. While our goal is to work with the members to satisfy each of your needs, it is important we make sound financial decisions. In this case we felt disposing of the structure was the best decision. We will all miss the the gazebo but shall retain the memories. Several small pieces were kept and we plan to incorporate in a new structure. It has been a challenging two years for MBIYC members and we appreciate your patience and support. We are working very hard to build our club from the ground up with the goal of delivering an attractive functional facility and making MBIYC your island oasis. MBIYC Board of Directors
